Winter Track: Germantown Academy Claims Top Spots at Hill Quad Meet

POTTSTOWN -- Germantown Academy started the 2023-24 indoor season on Wednesday at the Hill School Quad Meet. The Patriots competed against Hill School, Blair Academy, and Germantown Friends. GA won the meet, with the boys scoring 80.5 points and the girls scoring 59.5 points. 

Boys Highlights

  • Tripp Capers '24 and Brady McDonough '26 went 1-2 in the 55m, with Capers running 6.61 and McDonough going 6.81. Capers also took first in the 200m, going 24.44.
  • Evan Badami '26 won the 800m in 2:03.93, more than 12 seconds faster than the next finisher. 
  • Arjun Lee '27 cleared 5' 04" in the high jump, setting a PR and taking second place.
  • Robby Bright '25 and Adrian Diem '25 went 1-2 in the pole vault, clearing 13' and 11' 6", respectively. 
  • Jet Dickerson '26 cleared 19' 6.75" in the long jump to take first place. 
  • Gavin Fountain '24, Mario Toscano '24, and CJ Mersky '24 swept the shot put, throwing 45' 3.50", 43' 07", and 38' 05", respectively. 

Girls Highlights

  • Lyla Perry '26 went 1:09.41 in the 400m to take first. Jazziah Manning '25 finished third in 1:21.72. 
  • Lorelai Fortmann '25 cleared 9' in the pol vault, setting a new PR and winning the event. Fortmann also took second in the long jump, clearing 13' 0.5".
  • Devon Geist '26 finished second in the pole vault, 7' 06". She also took second in the high jump, clearing 4' 6". 
  • Fortmann also took second in the long jump, clearing 13' 0.5".
  • Layla Gentile '25 threw 35' 10.75" for a new PR and a first-place finish.
