Winter Track: GA Throwers Earn Top Marks at Shot Put Invitational

FORT WASHINGTON -- Germantown Academy's field house played host to the GA Shot Put Invitational on Dec. 13. The Patriots welcomed throwers from Academy of Notre Dame, Bensalem, Berks Catholic, Chester, Engineering & Sciences, Malvern Prep, and Villa Maria for the event. 

Layla Gentile '25 earned the top spot in the girls shot put, recording a toss of 38' 2.50". Gentile's mark was more than five feet further than the next closest result. Brynn Sweeney '26 threw 26' 5.00", and Farihah Kemp '25 went 25' 8.00" to take seventh and ninth, respectively. Jordan Wright '27 (20' 1.75"), Jules Yahav '26 (19' 4.50"), Eliza Evans '26 (18' 1.50"), and Anna Houston '26 (14' 8.25) also recorded marks. 

Gavin Fountain '24 was the top finisher for the GA boys, taking third overall with a 50' 0.5" throw. Mario Toscano '24 (43' 8.75") and CJ Mersky '24 (41') finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Brandon Truszkowski '26 rounded out the top-10 finishers with a throw of 35' 2.0".
